A Meant-to-Be Barn Wedding at Black Saddle Barn
Some weddings feel like they’re guided by something bigger than us. Memego and Chris’s wedding at Black Saddle Barn was one of those days — full of family, faith, and a feeling that this was always meant to be.
Years ago, Memego toured the barn with her grandma when it was under different ownership. She loved it, but the timing wasn’t right, and life moved forward. When she and Chris started planning, they booked another venue instead.
Then something changed. The barn reopened, and the couple felt pulled back. They knew in their hearts that this was the place. Even if it meant giving up their deposit somewhere else, they chose Black Saddle Barn. With her grandma’s passing between those two visits, the space felt even more meaningful — almost as if she had left her blessing there.
The night before the wedding, the forecast said 80–90% chance of rain. But Memego and Chris prayed with their families for clear skies. The next morning, the rain never came. Instead, the day stayed dry and calm, with moody skies that added to the atmosphere.
The couple believes it was her grandma’s blessing that carried them through, giving them the day they had always hoped for.

At 2:30 pm, guests gathered outside the barn as the Drum Song began. The ceremony was deeply personal and filled with traditions, including vows and a blanket ceremony.
With navy, pinks, greens, and soft neutrals in the wedding colors, the details blended beautifully with the natural surroundings. The cloudy sky made everything feel intimate and cozy, while family and friends wrapped the couple in love.
A blanket ceremony is a wedding tradition where the couple is wrapped in a blanket, or sometimes multiple blankets, as a symbol of their new life together.

Once the vows were complete, guests enjoyed cocktails while family photos were taken. Soon after, everyone gathered in the barn’s pavilion for dinner — starting with dessert first, a fun and sweet surprise.
The buffet meal by Churchills kept the evening flowing, while One More Bite Bakery served desserts everyone raved about. Speeches brought laughter and tears, and the space glowed with décor by Northern Occasions and seamless coordination by Tickled Pink Brides.
When the lights dimmed, the party began. Sellebrations kept the dance floor alive, while Tie the Knot Bartending kept glasses full until the very last song.
